Photography in The Hague
The Hague is one of the places that keeps returning in my work. Not always as a literal subject, but as atmosphere: sea light, quiet streets, old buildings, people in transit, and the strange border between public life and private thought.
This page collects the local side of Zone Photos: fine art photography, portraiture, black and white street photography, and conceptual photo art made in or around The Hague.

The city as background pressure
The Hague is not only a location marker. It is also a mood. The city has a particular restraint: diplomatic facades, coastal weather, quiet residential streets, and sudden theatrical scenes in ordinary places. That restraint suits the way I photograph.
I am interested in photographs that keep some silence around them. Images that do not explain everything immediately. Portraits, street scenes, and constructed images that leave room for interpretation.
